Introducing My New Weather App: Real-Time Updates, Right in Your Browser!

“I was tired of clunky weather sites loaded with ads and pop-ups. So, I built the exact opposite: a fast, distraction-free app that gives you the forecast instantly.”

Staying ahead of the weather just got a whole lot simpler. I’m incredibly excited to finally share a project I’ve been working on behind the scenes: my brand-new, minimalist Weather App!

Whether you are trying to figure out if you need an umbrella for your morning commute, planning a weekend getaway, or just curious about the temperature across the globe, this app is designed to give you the data you need instantly, without any of the clutter.

You can try it out right now over at anishmalias.gitlab.io/weather/.

Why I Built This

Let’s be honest—most modern weather websites are exhausting. The moment you open them, you are bombarded with pop-up ads, auto-playing videos, and endless columns of text before you can even see if it’s going to rain today.

I wanted to build an alternative that focuses purely on speed, accuracy, and clean design. I wanted an interface where you type a city, hit enter, and immediately get a beautifully presented snapshot of the current conditions.

Key Features

  • Instant Search: Just type in any city or location globally to get real-time weather metrics instantly.
  • Clean, Ad-Free Interface: Designed with a modern, distraction-free layout so the weather data always takes center stage.
  • Fully Responsive: It works seamlessly whether you are checking it on your desktop, a tablet, or on your phone while on the go.
  • Fast Loading: Built to be incredibly lightweight so it loads in a flash, even on slower mobile data connections.

How It Works

The app connects directly to reliable, live weather APIs to pull down-to-the-minute details for your selected location. Because it runs entirely in your browser via GitLab Pages, there is nothing to download or install. You can simply bookmark the link and check it whenever you need a quick forecast.

Try It Out & Share Your Feedback!

This is just the beginning. I’m already planning future updates, including multi-day forecasts, severe weather alerts, and localized radar views.

I would absolutely love for you to take it for a spin! Head over to the Live Weather App, test out your city, and let me know what you think.

What features should I add next? If you spot any bugs or have design suggestions, drop a comment below or reach out—I’d love to hear your thoughts!
